GERNIKA: EL GRITO A LA INTEGRACIÓN Y TRANSFORMACIÓN SOCIAL A TRAVÉS DEL ARTE
Hoy, 26 de abril, se marca un momento sombrío pero profundamente significativo en la historia: el aniversario del bombardeo de Guernica en 1937. Este acto de violencia, perpetrado contra civiles inocentes por la Legión Cóndor alemana y la Aviación Legionaria italiana, que combatían en favor del bando sublevado contra el gobierno de la Segunda República Española. no solo devastó una población, sino que también resonó en el espíritu de la comunidad artística mundial.
La noticia de la destrucción alcanzó a Pablo Picasso, otro hijo de Málaga como yo, impulsándole a crear lo que se convertiría en un símbolo eterno del sufrimiento y la resistencia ante la adversidad: su obra maestra, Guernica.
Desde joven, enfrentando desafíos personales como la neurodivergencia y la cronicidad de la ansiedad y la depresión, he hallado en el arte no solo un refugio, sino una poderosa herramienta de expresión y cambio. Estos desafíos, junto con mi pasión por la inclusión y la transformación social, me han llevado a enfocarme en cómo el arte puede ser un vehículo para la integración social y la mejora de la sociedad.
RECORDAR EL PASADO, CONSTRUIR EL FUTURO A TRAVÉS DEL ARTE
En este día significativo no solo condenamos una atrocidad histórica, sino que también celebramos el poder del arte para curar y unir. En Málaga, mi ciudad y fuente constante de inspiración, hemos firmado la constitución de Kripties Fundación bajo la visión de «El arte como vehículo de integración y transformación social», y lanzamos además el «manifiesto Málaga Metropolitana«, un compromiso con la creación de una comunidad más inclusiva y resiliente.
Creemos firmemente que el arte no solo refleja la realidad, sino que también la moldea. Con cada proyecto, exposición y colaboración, buscamos no solo intervenir en espacios culturales, sino también transformar los espacios de vida de las personas, haciendo del arte una herramienta de cambio social tangible y duradero.
Hoy, al recordar Gernika, reafirmamos nuestro compromiso con la vida y la paz, inspirados por el legado de Picasso. Extendemos una invitación a todos para unirse a nosotros en este viaje, explorando y promoviendo el arte como un puente hacia un futuro más inclusivo y fraternal.

GERNIKA: THE CRY FOR INTEGRATION AND SOCIAL CHANGE THROUGH ART
Today, 26 April, marks a sombre but profoundly significant moment in history: the anniversary of the bombing of Guernica in 1937. This act of violence, perpetrated against innocent civilians by the German Condor Legion and the Italian Legionary Air Force, who were fighting on behalf of the rebel side against the government of the Second Spanish Republic, not only devastated a city, but also resonated in the spirit of the global art community.
News of the destruction reached Pablo Picasso, another son of Malaga, and inspired him to create what would become a timeless symbol of suffering and resilience in the face of adversity: his masterpiece, Guernica.
From a young age, facing personal challenges such as neurodivergence and chronic anxiety and depression, I found in art not only a refuge, but a powerful tool for expression and change. These challenges, along with my passion for social inclusion and transformation, have led me to focus on how art can be a vehicle for social inclusion and societal improvement.
REMEMBERING THE PAST, BUILDING THE FUTURE THROUGH ART
On this important day, we not only condemn a historical atrocity, but also celebrate the power of art to heal and unite. In Málaga, my city and a constant source of inspiration, we have signed the constitution of the Kripties Foundation with the vision of «Art as a vehicle for integration and social transformation» and we have also launched the Manifesto Málaga Metropolitana, a commitment to creating a more inclusive and resilient community.
We firmly believe that art not only reflects reality, but also shapes it. With each project, exhibition and collaboration, we seek not only to intervene in cultural spaces, but also to transform people’s living spaces, making art a tool for tangible and lasting social change.
Today, as we remember Guernica, we reaffirm our commitment to life and peace, inspired by Picasso’s legacy. We invite all to join us on this journey, exploring and promoting art as a bridge to a more inclusive and fraternal future.
